Deliverables

BRIEF:
The Brief for this project was to explore how I could use AI as a core tool for inspiration when creating a 3D asset. Also how AI could be used to make my workflow more efficient in collaboration with my existing processes.

HOW I MADE IT:
With a completely blank project I began by using ChatGPT to give me a genre, which it gave me Phycological Horror. With the genre picked, I asked it to give me a list of typical props found in the Phycological Horror genre. most of these props immediately gave me cool ideas for what I could create. The prompt I ended up selecting was “A mysterious key that unlocks forbidden places”. With my prompt now found, I copy and pasted it directly into Adobe Firefly to generate me an image to represent that prompt. After a little while of fiddling with Firefly’s settings I got an image I was happy with. I then used Adobe Express to erase the background of the image only leaving the key itself.

Once the AI section of the workflow was complete, I simply brought my image into Auto Desk Maya and began tracing it with simple privatives, before using some bevel and the line to mesh tool to add detail to the more intricate areas of the design. With the model now done, I brought it into Adobe Substance painter to add a lovely high quality metal texture. Finally, I brought the finished product into SketchFab so you can view it in 3D yourself.
I also want to add that this description is a brief summary of the project and not a detailed step by step tutorial, as there were a lot of extra things I did throughout the project that I can’t cover without making this description thousands of words long.
